DERBY- The Derby Selectboard last week named a new planner to fill a vacancy. Former Planner Cynthia Adams resigned due to a conflict of meeting times.
The new member of the planning commission is Brian Fisher of Derby Line.
Fisher comes on board in the midst of the ongoing controversial issue of a proposed mini mart and gas station in Derby Line.
NEWPORT CITY – A would-be thief looking for video games will serve three to six months in prison, all suspended except 75 days. Fifteen of those days are five consecutive weekends beginning Oct. 14.Â
On Thursday, Jared Stanzione, 31, of Derby Line, entered a plea of guilty to a felony charge of burglary of an occupied dwelling and a misdemeanor charge of petty larceny of $500 or less.

Colladay–– Frances, 75, of Mountaintop, PA, passed away Thursday, September 29, 2011 after a critical illness at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital.
