ORLEANS-Manager Matt Tinker has played his first three games without three starters and, with all three making contributions and his veterans continuing to swing heavy metal, the Lake Region girls romped to a 24-6 win, stopped early by the fifteen run rule, over Hazen’s Wildcats.
Karen Potter, returning to the lineup, scored five times and was backed by an offensive onslaught including a long three run homer by Ranger second baseman Paige Wells. LRU blew the game open early as they put up eight first inning runs and notched another six in the second for a impressive early margin.
ORLEANS-Senior Trevor Royer blasted two homeruns including a grand slam as the Rangers cut down the Wildcats 9-3 on Saturday. Royer’s sixth inning longball finished Hazen’s chances as he collected his third hit of the day. Royer had gone yard an inning earlier. Tyler Jacobs added a pair of hits and two RBI as the Rangers put up another high scoring total. Thru four games the Rangers have scored 46 runs while amassing a 3-1 record.
The Rangers spread the pitching among four players starting with Evan Royer who did a good job.
DERBY–After a tough 7-0 loss to Stowe on Friday afternoon, the Lake Region girls tennis team was at it again Saturday morning as they shook off the previous days matches and defeated U-32 by the score of 6-1.
Lake Region has received very strong play in the early going from Desirae Colorado and Kelly Leblanc. Leblanc returns to the number one slot this year while Colorado has been competing in the number two position for the Lady Rangers, an upgrade from number three a year ago.
