ALBANY — Jennifer Tolman, treasurer for the Albany Fire Department and a member of its school board, sent a public letter of apology to the Newport Daily Express recently on the heels of allegations that she may be responsible for the loss of over $6,000 from the town's fire department.
Following a recent audit, Fire Chief Donald Peters confirmed that he reported the findings to the Vermont State Police and suspected that charges either would be or have been filed against Tolman.
The Newport Express has received reports that the money has been paid back.
Cahill–– Harold died peacefully on Easter Sunday at Maple Lane Nursing Home in Orleans Vt. An interment ceremony will be held at the Island Pond Lake Side Cemetery on Pleasant Street on May 28th at 2:00 PM. An informal celebration of his life will follow at the American Legion. All are welcome. Should friends desire, contributions in his memory may be made to a charity of choice plus a toast in his memory would be appropriate.
