NEWPORT, VT - Having a mammogram is typically a private matter, but it wasn’t for Deveney Choquette, a popular radio personality on WMOO in Derby. DERBY LINE – The Derby Line Village Trustees have agreed to do a study of the water system on Elm Street. The engineering firm of Aldrich and Elliott will conduct the $15,800 study as soon as possible.
A no-interest, five-year loan through the Agency of Natural Resources will fund the study. Ultimately, the system's rate payers will have to pay for the study and the eventual upgrades.

NEWPORT–The sight after the game of an exhausted Paul Samaan laying on the ground, inhaler in hand, summed up the effort that the UCA boys gave in their tough-luck 1-0 loss to West Rutland Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Division IV soccer play-offs.
"The boys gave everything they had today, but you still hate to lose a game like this 1-0," said coach Alyssa DeLaBruere.
UCA matched their opponents step for step, chance for chance, but in the end a squibbler that got past Chris DeLaBruere decided the contest.
