NEWPORT CITY – The North Country Union High School board came under fire from Newport City Council President John Wilson at Tuesdays board meeting. Wilson, speaking as a city resident not a council member, was upset that a mailing encouraging voters to vote on the high school budget arrived after Town Meeting Day.
Wilson received the mailing three days after the vote and other residents received it later than that.Â
NEWPORT CITY - Through a collaborative effort among district wide teachers, area students have created art work on postcards and the cards, after a showing at the Memphremagog Arts Collaborative, will be sent to troops overseas.
Art teachers from the North Country District met at the beginning of the year and wanted to do a project that would encompass all schools and students who attend art classes. The meeting evolved into the idea of creating postcards for military troops serving overseas.
