The Nelsons have complained of noise from the site, and have been compiling a list of effects in a journal. On about two occasions last year noise levels went slightly above the sound limits set by the Vermont Public Service Board (PSB). According to PSB information, the levels above the limits were so low it was beyond human detection.

Drug Take Back Program Nets 149 Pounds

October 29, 2013

DERBY- The Drug Enforcement Agency endorses a drug take back program that is operated locally by the Orleans Country Sheriff's Department. Sheriff Kirk Martin said the biannual program is a national effort to get unused drugs out of people's homes. “We want to get narcotics out of the house,” said Martin. “There needs to be appropriate disposal of unused drugs to keep them from contaminating ground water. The high rate of misuse of narcotics, outdated drugs, and people who pass away are several reasons why we have this program.”
