BURLINGTON â It was a homecoming of sorts for Boston College Eagle sophomore Johnny Gaudreau and he didnât disappoint. Gaudreau had a goal Friday in the Eagleâs 4-4 draw with the University of Vermont and then followed that up with two goals and four assists as BC nailed the Catamounts 7-2 Saturday night.
While Johnny hails from Carneyâs Point, New Jersey, his roots are well established in northern Vermont. Over 30 relatives from the Beebe and Orleans County area showed up to watch their son, grandson, cousin and so on, and the 19-year-old delivered.
COVENTRY â The Newport State Airport Advisory Committee met with environmental engineers and state agency officials for an update of the project schedule and how environmental issues will impact the proposed expansion. Project manager Jed Merrow first provided a master plan update that includes a mix of adding to existing infrastructure as well as taking down a building currently used for snow removal equipment.

MONTPELIER â Vermont law enforcement officers are on the heels of the legislature, waving red flags, saying they fear decriminalization of marijuana could be more than a pipe dream.
Bill S.48 proposes to change the penalty for possessing an ounce or less of marijuana from a crime to a civil offense. A person under 21 caught with marijuana would face the same penalties as possession of alcohol.
An ounce of marijuana would be about half a sandwich bag.
Pellerinââ Leonard passed away peacefully at the St. Johnsbury Health and Rehab on March 11, 2013 at the age of 86.
