Shamrocks Make it Two in a Row at Nationals

April 4, 2013

SAN JOSE, CA-For much of their game against the California state champion Lady Ducks, the Shamrocks looked like they were going to move to 1-1 at the National Tournament.
The girls had two goals called back, one in the first, another in the second, but this team would not be denied.
Morgan Lamos and Cailee LaPorte changed the fortunes of the green and white, as the pair each tallied a third period goal to give Vermont the 2-1 win.
Lamos was the first to strike for the Shamrocks.
Morgan tied things up at 1-1 with 11:07 left to go, but things would stay tight until the very end.

Falcon Baseball Taking a National League Approach in 2013

April 4, 2013

NEWPORT–The 2013 North Country baseball team is going back to the basics.
Coach Brian Bonvechio's crew will look to get back to the fundamentals of America's favorite pastime as they prepare to face Vermont's top players in the ever tough Metro Division.
"This year we mad a real commitment to improving our defense, as well as our pitching staff," Bonvechio said. "We would like to think we are about five pitchers deep, and although we don't have a lot of depth, we are pretty strong defensively, we have a lot of speed and a little bit of pop in the middle of the order.
