Belwayââ Norma Creart, 96, of Newport, Vermont passed away peacefully at Bel-Aire Center on August 16, 2013.

BARTON â Kenny Martin, 72, of Fairhaven, has been driving horses in the harness racing at the Orleans County Fair since the 1950s. Friday, Orleans County Fair officials presented Martin and George Barnard with awards for their years of dedication. Barnard has been driving horses nearly as long as Martin.

NEWPORT â Elmer âJimâ Joerg, a volunteer firefighter for Albany, is being held on $250,000 bail at Northern State Correctional Facility in connection with the fire at the Albany Fire Station.

BARTON â In an impromptu decision yesterday, the Northeast International Mutual Aid decided to hold a raffle at the Orleans County Fair this week. Firefighters will draw the winning name for the raffle â a woodcarving done during a Masters of the Chainsaw Show â during the Demolition Derby Sunday, the last day of the fair.

He is a chiropractor who can order tests, diagnose sickness, and get reimbursements from third party payments from insurance providers. He treats medical problems by other means than pharmaceuticals.

NEWPORT CITY â Rep. Peter Welch made a whirlwind stop in downtown Newport Wednesday. During an interview at the Northeast Kingdom Tasting Center, Welch said he came to Newport because he wanted to see what was going on. The congressman was pleased to see many positive retail and dining experiences in the Main Street area as well as to learn about the proposed development with Bill Stenger. "There is a lot of good activity here."
