NEWPORT-Briana Bocelli's first-half hat trick was all the Falcons would need, but they added one more, defeating Montpelier 4-1 in their long-awaited home debut on Friday.
Bocelli scored the first three goals of the game before Montpelier's Samantha Ringer broke up NCU keeper Myrriah Gonyaw's bid for a second straight shut-out.
Brittany Fortier had the fourth goal for the Falcons who improve to 3-0-1, good for second place behind Bellows Falls in Division III.
They will look to keep the ball rolling next Thursday when they travel to Waterbury to take on Harwood.
NEWPORT-Both the UCA boys and the North Country girls soccer clubs picked up losses at home, while the Lake Region girls earned a win on the road in Friday's high school soccer action.
UCA got underway first against Trinity Baptist, and the visiting squad unloaded six goals on the home club before Justin Limoges broke the shut-out with a penalty kick goal late in the second half.
6-1 was the final in the contest as the Crusaders move 0-4 on the year.
Over at North Country Union High School, the Falcons were hosting the BFA Comets in a rematch from their first game of the season.
