FERDINAND – The energy company that wanted to construct a 35-turbine wind farm on Seneca Mountain has scaled back plans and is now considering a 17-turbine project instead. The amount of energy produced would be about 60 megawatts instead of the 90 to 100 megawatts planned in the previous project.
The previous plan ignited opposition from Brighton and Newark residents but, according to a nonbinding vote, people living in the Unified Towns and Gorges (UTG) are more receptive to the idea.
