Newport City Council Wants To Use Surplus To Upgrade Municipal Building

NEWPORT CITY – The city council will ask voters next week to approve using $186,958 left over from replacing the Veteran’s Memorial Long Bridge to renovate and build an addition to the municipal building. The question will be on the election day ballot Tuesday.

Robert L. Silvester, 72, former PGA Professional at Orleans Country Club passed away peacefully on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at Halifax Health Hospice in Florida following a lengthy illness.

Brunnette Wins Boys Division I State Championship

THETFORD-What an exciting day at the races for North Country cross country yesterday at the VT State Meet in Thetford, VT!
The headline of the day was NC XC has their 2nd ever XC VT State Champion in senior Samuel Brunnette, who took home the win in 17:06. (Daniel Webster took home the VT State Champion Title in 2003 & repeated in 2004).

Yellowjackets Edge Out Lady Rangers, Move on to Semis

ORLEANS–Caitlyn Dabagian's goal with 3:53 remaining in the first half was all the offense that the Milton Yellowjackets would need on Saturday, as they topped the Lake Region Lady Rangers 1-0 to advance to the Division II semifinals.

Defense Leads Lady Chargers To 2-0 Win Over Hornets

CRAFTSBURY-The Whitcomb Hornets traveled to Craftsbury for a Division IV soccer Quarterfinal match against the cruising Craftsbury Lady Chargers on Saturday afternoon.
Craftsbury split with Whitcomb during the regular season, and the team made obvious changes, dominating the possession, enabling them to pick up the 2-0 win.

Craftsbury Dispatches Cabot To Move To Semi-Finals

CRAFTSBURY-The Craftsbury Chargers hosted a Quarterfinal soccer playoff game for the first time in a while on Friday afternoon, taking on their season long rival Cabot Huskies.
Coming off of a devastating last second loss in their previous run in with Cabot, the Chargers were able to turn the tables completely, picking up an incredible 3-0 victory, punching a ticket to the Division IV Semi-Finals.
