When Melissa Murphy heard a house in Derby Line that she knew well from her childhood was for rent she could not have been happier. Wheelchair bound, she did not feel it was necessary to take a look inside, after all she had been in the house numerous times before. The house was posted on Craigslist for rent and a couple other sites.

MONTPELIER (AP) â€” Vermont State Police troopers patrolled the Lake Champlain area near New York on Wednesday as part of the hunt for two convicted murderers who talked about heading to Vermont after escaping a New York state prison near the Canadian border, Gov. Peter Shumlin said.
