Ryan Paul Set to Play for Junior Bruins Organization

NEWPORT–With North Country's graduation having come and gone, many students will head off to college or to work when the next school year rolls around.
However, Ryan Paul will be taking a different path, much like his teammate Ross DeLaBruere, he will be heading off to play junior hockey.
Paul was signed this spring by the Boston Junior Bruins of the USPHL.
"It feels great," said Paul on the signing. "People have been telling me for years that I could, and to just be able to play at the next level and live the dream is amazing."

Derby Walmart: Act 250 Hearing Next Week

The Act 250 hearing by the District 7 Environmental Commission for the proposed Derby Walmart is scheduled for next week, Tuesday, June 17 at 5 p.m. at the Derby municipal office building, 124 Main Street, Derby. Before the hearing a site visit is scheduled for 3 p.m.

CERT Seeks To Expand Membership

NEWPORT CITY – The Citizen Emergency Response Team (CERT) is seeking to add new volunteers to its membership roster.
Chris Barrett, director of CERT District 10, which covers Orleans County and northern Essex County, said members help their community in times of disasters, manmade or natural.

Walmart Traffic: Experts Predict Thousands More Vehicles On Road

A traffic study conducted by Conley Associates of Killington and Boston on behalf of Walmart estimates that the supercenter would see 8,360 entrances and exits into and out of its parking lot a day.
