Hockey Falcons to Play 2 Games in Stanstead in 2013

NEWPORT–North Country Athletic Director Mike Kiser has reported that the North Country boys hockey team will play two games at the Pat Burns Memorial Arena at Stanstead College this season.
The games are slated for December 6th and 7th 2013.
As of right now the Falcons’ opponents have not been one hundred percent confirmed, but possible candidates include South Burlington and the Stanstead College junior varsity team.
Times for the games have not been released, but it looks like it could either be a Friday and Saturday night scenario, or a Friday night, Saturday afternoon schedule.

Prue’s Double Breaks up Colchester’s No-hit Bid

NEWPORT–The North Country Falcons played a much improved a game against Colchester on Tuesday, compared to their last outing against Milton, but they ran into a tough Laker pitching staff, led by starter Devon Dessormeau, who limited the Falcons to just one run on one hit and a walk in Colchester's 9-1 win.
Colchester is now 8-2 while North Country is 0-9.
The boys travel to take on Mte. Abe today, where Bryce Carter will make his first varsity start for North Country.
First pitch is at 4:30.

Veteran Lakers Take Advantage of Falcons’ Youth

NEWPORT-Colchester hurler Emi Eakin was on her game, as she tossed a three hitter striking out 16 Falcons during her team’s 12-0 blanking of NCU.
Eakin struck out the side in the first, fourth and sixth inning. North Country shortstop Anna Bingham had Eakin’s number however as she pounded out a pair of hits and drew a walk in her other at bat.
NCU’s sophomore catcher Victoria Kinney blasted the other Falcon hit hitting the ball in the gap between the center fielder and right fielder.

CRASH TRAPS DRIVER

Karl Cloney, 30, had to be extricated from a smashed car following a mid-day accident in Newport City. He was taken to the hospital and cited for traffic violations. Police do not suspect speed or alcohol. Read about it in Thursday's edition of The Newport Daily Express for May 16, 2013.

FEMALE DRUG SUSPECT STRIPPED AND RELEASED
