JAY, VT - Work on the 60,000 square foot water park at Jay Peak Resort is nearly complete. The multimillion dollar park is the last piece that will make Jay Peak a four season resort.
The scheduled opening date for the water park is Dec. 12th.

Joan Carolyn Armstrong, born May 18, 1939 in Troy, Vermont, passed away on August 22, 2011 in Marysville, WA. She was the daughter of Orfice Armstrong and Gertrude Red. She married Archie H. Cota in 1957, they were divorced in 1978.Â
Joan worked as a Licensed Practical Nurse for many years in Vermont and California. In 1993 she completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Burlington College.Â

ORLEANS-With the official college signing session in full swing, one of Lake Region’s best hoopsters, senior Kylie Atwood, signed on the dotted line locking in her post high school hoop career. Atwood agreed to sign with the University of Vermont Catamounts starting in the fall of 2012. That insures Atwood playing at the Division One level at the state’s biggest and only DI sports Institution.

NEWPORT–While most people don't get a chance to see it, North Country Cross-Country coach Chris Shaffer is doing good things with the program.
For the second time in his two years as head coach, the Falcons will once again be represented at this weekends' New England Cross Country Championship in Rhode Island, but Shaffer knows that he is just a part of the success that the athletes have had.
"There is a point where all my talking and all my running next to them can only go so far, because once race day comes it's how determined they are and what abilities they bring."
