STOWE–Finally, after years of being on the losing end of things, the North Country girl's hockey team picked up a win against Stowe, defeating the Raiders 2-0.
The score could have been much higher, but Stowe's netminder Danielle Mayo was a rock in the nets, stopping sixteen shots in just the first period alone.
"We had a good first period, but Mayo is a tough goalie to beat," said coach Claude Paul.
Mayo stood tall until the third period, when the Falcons were finally able to get a pair past her.

COVENTRY – Few will argue that one of the happiest places on earth, as far as snowmobiling is concerned, is the Northeast Kingdom.Â
Al’s Snowmobile Parts Warehouse in the heart of the Northeast Kingdom is well prepared to fill the needs of the snowmobile enthusiast, not only in Vermont but worldwide as well.
ORLEANS COUNTY - Locally, snow sports enthusiasts are rejoicing with the near perfect conditions of packed powder snow. The cold temperatures and snowfall are a huge welcome for many after last year’s lackluster season of little snow coupled with warmer temperatures.
The unusually warm weather hit the local economy, especially those who depend on outdoor winter activity seekers for their businesses. The slow tourism for snow sports tends to have a ripple effect on other businesses.
HOLLAND – This week, families received a letter from Linda Phelan, Holland Elementary School’s principal, informing them that the husband of a school employee had been arrested on felony charges associated with the sexual assault of a child.
