Local Scouts Collect 200 Bags Of Food

NEWPORT CITY – They say it takes a village to raise a child. In the case of local Boy and Girl Scouts, it takes as few children to feed a village.
Saturday morning the Scouts and their leaders picked up collection bags and boxes they dropped off at homes about a week earlier.

Matt Messier Signs Letter to Play for St. John’s

ORLEANS–The St. John's University baseball program signed their newest pitcher to a letter of commitment on Wednesday, as Lake Region's standout hurler Matt Messier, with his parents by his side, put his name on the dotted line to suit up for the Red Storm of the Big East Conference.
"It is a relief just to have it set it stone, and now I am looking forward to meeting the rest of the team, and the freshman guys especially," said Matt.
