ORLEANS–Three out of the four Lady Rangers seniors were in attendance on Friday when Lake Region played their final regular season game of 2013.
Kayla Royer, Sarah Burnham and Whitney Poginy all got the start against Winooski, while the fourth senior, Hannah Leroux was on her class trip.
The Lady Rangers would not disappoint, as they plated 23 runs in the very one-sided 23-4 victory.

NEWPORT–In her final game at home, senior North Country Anna Bingham hit her fifth home run of the season in her third at bat to match the number on the back of her jersey in a losing cause against Essex.
"It was awesome, even though we lost," said Bingham on her final appearance as a Falcon in Newport. "I got my fifth home run and it made my day."

BURLINGTON–With temperatures hovering near 90 degrees, the Division I Vermont State track and field took place at Burlington High School’s athletic complex.
It would be a big day for the Essex Hornets, as they swept both the girls (156.5 pts.) and boys (115.2 pts.) divisions to win both titles.
North Country sent over about a dozen athletes to the meet, and would bring one first place finish, one second, two thirds and a fourth place, placing sixth on the girls side (31 pts.) and 13th on the boys (4 pts.)
