BRIGHTON- On Wednesday the Brighton select board supported Town Manager Joel Cope’s work securing two grants to install catch basins next to Island Pond. The water resources engineering firm Aldrich and Elliott estimate the basins will keep 5000 pounds of phosphorus out of Lake Memphremagog.
“We’re the headwater of Lake Memphremagog,” said Cope. “We have two grants. In 2016 we’ll install a catch basin at Mill Street and 2017 by the shuffleboard court.”
