NEWPORT CITY – Judge Robert Bent handed down a 48 month to 10-year prison sentence, with credit for time served, to 25-year-old Andrew Ladouceur of Derby for attempted burglary of an occupied dwelling.
In exchange for a full confession and testifying against co-defendant, Deonate McNeil, 24, the state gave Ladouceur a lighter sentence and dismissed felony charges of aggravated assault, unlawful restraint and attempted assault and robbery with a weapon.
Ladouceur turned himself in to police on Oct. 15, 2010, in Derby. He pleaded guilty Oct. 20, 2011.
NEWPORT CITY – Treating children just got easier for Newport Ambulance Service (NAS) and Northern Emergency Medical Services (NEMS).
The ambulance services, following a number of serious pediatric cases in the region, changed the way they respond to calls involving children. Last month, both ambulance services color-coded each backboard they own. The colors correspond to which medical bag to use on a child.
DERBY, VT - For generations, area youth were able to experience going to camp at Coutts-Moriarty located on Salem Lake in Derby, VT. The six-week camp could entertain 450 day and overnight campers with a variety of outdoor activities, including access to the lake.
Thanks to a new community building on the upper level, the camp is nearly ready for it's spring opening, with the ability to do more and offer more year round.
