DERBY – Dandelions, dandelions, dandelions. And few people know dandelions better than local artist Adrian Yellow and IROC's executive director and organizer of the Dandelion Run marathon, Phil White.
This year, the two have teamed up to raise the lowly weed to new heights.
The Dandelion Run, named as one of the five most scenic running races in Vermont, is scheduled for Saturday, May 19.
NEWPORT - With an eye toward developing entrepreneurs for the hospitality and tourism industry, North Country's Adult Career Center Director Eileen Illuzzi has submitted a grant to fund the creation of a new certification program. The focus will be on careers in hotel and resort management, recreation, restaurants, catering, sales, marketing, tourism and event planning.
DERBY/HOLLAND – The Vermont Public Service Board, on April 19, denied intervener status to a group of residents and an individual who want to participate in the PSB process and hearings for the Derby Line Wind Project.
The motions were denied without prejudice, meaning the board can change its mind if the interveners can convince hearing officer John Cotter why they should be involved.
