NEWPORT CITY – In six years of existence, Numia Medical Technology has moved four times. The most recent move for the Northeast Kingdom-based company was to the former Vermont Teddy Bear Factory on Farrant Street in Newport.
MONTPELIER - Vince Illuzzi of Derby, who has served as Orleans/Essex County Senator for more than three decades, has decided to seek the office of Auditor for the State of Vermont.
Illuzzi, a Republican, is going up against Progressive/Democrat Doug Hoffer. Current Auditor Tom Salmon is not seeking re-election.
DERBY LINE - A meeting is scheduled to discuss the possibly of putting a gate at the U.S./Canadian border on Route 5 in Derby Line, and the idea is already generating mixed comments.
Apparently many people are still driving into the United States without checking in at U.S. Customs, and traffic is continuing to build up and create conflict. GSA (U.S. General Services Administration) reached out to Derby Line officials regarding a meeting to address the issue.
