Derby Line Trustees Call Emergency Meeting Over CBP Action

The Derby Line trustees called an emergency meeting Wednesday over some issues that have come up in the village. U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) have put up an orange barricade at the top of the hill in the village where southbound traffic entering the U.S. accumulates.

E. Taylor Hatton School Board Transfers Building To Town

MORGAN — The Morgan school board formally transferred title of the Elizabeth Taylor Hatton Elementary School to the select board Wednesday. The decision came almost three years after the board with voter approval decided to send students on tuition to Derby.

Brownington Approves Bond, Truck Purchase

BROWNINGTON — Voters here Tuesday approved the $171,000 truck purchase by 130 to 90, and the $500,000 garage bond by 131 to 90.

NC Grad Reunited With Class Ring After 35 Years

NEWPORT CITY – Thanks to an honest man with a metal detector and a kind heart, Moni Turner, a 1979 graduate of North Country Union High School, was reunited with her class ring during her 35-year class reunion held at the East Side Restaurant Friday, Aug. 8.
