The Home Team Provides Survival Kits To The Homeless

NEWPORT CITY - On a cold winter morning late last year, Neil Morrissette saw someone sleeping in a corner of the Emory Hebard State Office Building on his way to work at Creative Workforce Solutions Morrissette, decided to help the homeless in the region.
Morrissette brought his idea of making emergency kits to the Home Team, a local group of Christian believers of which he is a member, who try to help those in distress.

BARTON - A lightly attended annual meeting to review and vote for Lake Region Union High School’s FY 2015 budget met no dissenting opinions. Following a trend among area schools, the school board presented a budget a modest 1.52 percent higher than the current budget.

Holland Voters Approve Bond

January 15, 2014

HOLLAND - Voters in Holland voted on Tuesday to approve two articles, one of which is to bond for renovations to the elementary school. The second article authorizes the school board to direct any remaining audited fund balance for FY2013 to an existing capital improvement reserve fund.

Revision Military Gets Department Of Defense Contract, Will Add 45 Jobs

NEWPORT CITY – There’s good news for the local unemployed population. Revision Military, with a plant in Newport, received a new $21 million government contract to manufacture 90,000 advanced combat helmets (ACH) into next year.
