Local Maple Producers Open Sugarhouse Doors

It was a sweet weekend in the state as hundreds of maple syrup producers opened their doors for the annual maple open house weekend.
Maple production so far has been sluggish, which prompted some of the producers to cancel their activities, but things were really cooking for those who continued on with their scheduled activities.

Vietnam War Veterans To Be Honored In Montpelier

Local Residents Give Input About State Stun Gun Policy

DERBY – Local residents Thursday evening had an opportunity to give their input about a statewide policy regarding the use of conducted electrical weapons (CEWs) by law enforcement officers. The comments will help the state’s Law Enforcement Advisory Board develop a model policy.

Supreme Court Hears Seneca Mountain Wind Appeal

NEWARK - An appeal of the Public Service Board’s (PSB) ruling against Newark Neighbors United (NNU) request was heard by the Vermont Supreme Court recently. The towns of Brighton and Newark joined NNU to appeal a Certificate of Public Good issued by the PSB allowing Eolian Renewable Energy Development to site four meteorological towers in three Essex County towns.
