Derby Select Board Reverses Decision On Derby Line Bylaw

April 29, 2014

The Village of Derby Line will get the bylaw amendments they wanted. The Derby select board passed the changes Monday evening, a second vote on the same issue. Selectmen Beula-Jean Shattuck, Steve Gendreau, and Grant Spates voted yes. Selectman Laura Dolgin, who had previously voted against the move, was absent. Chairman Brian Smith did not vote.

U.S. News And World Report Recognizes Lake Region Union High School

BARTON - For a third straight year Lake Region Union High School has received a prestigious award recognizing the school’s academic achievement. The U.S. News and World Report rewarded the school with a silver medal, ranking eighth in the state of Vermont. Last year the school finished third in the state.

Reining Hope Provides Special Horse And Person Connection

MORGAN - Reining Hope Adaptive Equine Assisted Activities and Therapies provides an opportunity to traditional horse enthusiasts and those with disabilities a safe place to ride and learn about horses.
Kristin Mason, owner and program director at Reining Hope, said her organization is entering its second year.
