Vermont lawmakers are looking at a drugged driving law.
During Monday’s Legislative Breakfast at the East Side Restaurant, Rep. Vicki Strong (R-Olreans-Caledonia-1) of Albany said the law is in regards to the state’s opiate addiction problem.

Chili Festival: Everyone Wins: Proceeds Go To Warm The Children

BARTON - Among the many events offered at the I Love Winter festival held Saturday was the Chamber Chili Challenge. Five dollars allowed a chance to sample offerings from nine participants. Cornbread on the side was offered as well, for a well-balanced and delicious meal.

NCSU Superintendent Robert Kern To Retire

DERBY - When Dr. Robert Kern arrived in the Northeast Kingdom to take the position of superintendent of Orleans Essex North Supervisory Union seven years ago, school board members weren’t sure what to expect.

On July 1 Kern will retire after a 42-year career in education, but he still has unmet goals he hopes will one day be realized.
