Bill Would Make Vermonters Hang Up and Drive

Newport City Council: Aldermen Turn Down Land Purchase Offer

Walmart Plans Unveiled

DERBY – A Walmart supercenter in Orleans County is getting closer to a reality. The engineering firm Sam Ruggiano, Inc. of St Albans has drafted engineering plans for Developer JL Davis for the proposed Walmart supercenter near Route 5/105 in Derby, and Shattuck Hill Road. Brian Smith, the Derby select board chairman, said Monday evening at the board’s regular meeting that the developers are getting ready to submit plans to the state Act 250 Commission for a permit.

VEC Members: Scammer Alert

Scammers are at it again, this time targeting Vermont Electric Cooperative members. Liz Gamache, corporate spokesperson with VEC said Tuesday that a non VEC utility customer was contacted earlier in the day by phone by a scammer.
