Joslyn–– Mary H., 85, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, Feb. 22, 2012, in The Converse Home in Burlington. A funeral service will be held at Orleans Federated Church in the spring, the date to be announced. Corbin & Palmer Funeral and Cremation Service in care of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Converse Home, 272 Church St., Burlington, VT 05401.

Thomas–– Frances P., 97, passed away February 9, 2012 at Pine Heights of Brattleboro. At her request, there will be no service. Burial will take place in the spring at Pine Grove Cemetery in Newport.

Hardwick– Solange “Sally” Rolande McAllister, 88, of Hardwick died Sunday February 19, 2012 at the Greensboro Nursing Home. She was born June 25, 1923 in Westfield, the daughter of the late Oliver and Olivina (Neunier) Pion.

Our beloved mother, wife and grandmother, Ellen Macomber Young, died in her daughters’ arms on February 7, 2012, at the age of 92 in Denver, Colorado. She was born at home in North Troy, Vermont, on December 12, 1919. Her mother knew the doctor was on his way because she heard the sleigh bells.
