Nash Basom, 69, died at his home in Glover on August 3, 2011 surrounded by his family. Born in 1942 in Alexandria, Virginia, Nash first fell in love with Vermont when he attended Farm and Wilderness Summer Camps as a youth in the 1950s. Later, he and his partner, Mariel Hess, moved to Vermont permanently, where they built a home in Glover and raised their daughters, Reeve and Kit.Â

Payeur–– Craig Bernard, 64, of Port Charlotte, FL/Island Pond, VT, passed away unexpectedly on June 21, 2011. His funeral will be at St. James Catholic Church in Island Pond, VT on Saturday, August 13, 2011 at 11 a.m. with Father Francis Conners as celebrant. Internment will be at his parents' plot at Lakeview Cemetery on Pleasant Street following the Mass. The family will receive family and friends at the church from 10 a.m. until the time of the funeral.
