NEWPORT–In the game of hockey sometimes you have to be a little bit lucky. Wednesday night at the Ice Haus, BFA St. Albans goaltender Andre Morin had the luck of the Irish going for him as the North Country Falcons hit two crossbars amidst a flurry of third period pressure en route to a 3-1 loss in their home opener.
"This was a big time game for us," said coach Andrew Roy, "they came out firing hard, but we adapted well and I am happy about that.
LYNDON–It was not the start that North Country girls basketball team had hoped for on Wednesday night as the team fell to Lyndon Institute 42-37.
"They wanted it a lot more than we did and it was visible," said coach Christiane Brown after the loss.
The team came out and took an 8-7 lead after one quarter, but signs were showing early that LI was not going to go away. The Vikings were hot to trot in the second, dropping fifteen point on the Falcons and taking a 21-16 lead into the half.
