BURLINGTON–With a team score of 61, The North Country boys track and Field team took home fourth place overall at the Division One State Track and Field meet on Saturday.
"It went down to the wire for third place between us and Colchester," Coach Gary Johnson said.
The team was paced to victory by the efforts of it's short distance runners, specifically Dylan Colombia. Colombia had two second place finishes, the first in the 100M with a time of 11.38, the second in the 200M, coming in in 23.42.
TOWNSEND-The Leland and Gray Rebels moved past the Lake Region girls in the semi-finals by the slimmest of margins, a 3-2 win in Townsend. Lake Region out hit Leland and Gray 7-4 but an early passed ball with no cover at home, single tallies from a three walk inning, and the only extra base hit recorded by the Rebels, gave the home team a 3-0 lead. Lake Region prevented further damage when left fielder Callie-Rae Cashin pulled in a fly ball and picked off a Leland and Gray runner as she scrambled back to second.
