ORLEANS --- A seemingly routine game, turned intense over the final 10 minutes of regulation, as the Lake Region Rangers battled to a 1-1 draw against the Lyndon Institute Vikings Tuesday afternoon.
“We need to play the full game with more intensity,” Coach Brad Urie said after the game.
Over the first 40 minutes both teams played solid soccer. Each side had opportunities to score, but neither team could capitalize and put the go-ahead goal in the back of the net. It looked as if neither team wanted to take control of the game, and stake their claim as the team to beat.

NEWPORT-You have to wonder how much more productive this offensive machine for the North Country Falcons can be. The 2-0 Falcons ran for 365 yards on the ground and pounded visiting U-32 on both sides of the ball, ransacking their East Montpelier opponents 73-6.
Jason Hatin was the big man in the offense scoring four touchdowns on the ground from 2, 3, 5 and 37 yards out. He added an 84 yard kickoff return for good measure as NCU dominated. Quarterback Tre Sanville scored twice and threw a touchdown pass as well.

“We had about four real quality chances early,” said Coach Alexander, “We hit the cross bar, and were not able to score on the others.”
The senior laden Cougars bounced back from the striking Falcons, and with two and a half minutes to go in the half they were able to to beat Lindsay Geoffrey off of a scramble in front of the NCU net.
CRAFTSBURY–The Craftsbury Academy Lady Chargers hosted the Rochester Rockets on Saturday afternoon. It was the Chargers first game of the season and they were looking to show off the tools they had worked on during the preseason.
The Lady Chargers got on the board early as Deidre Martin took the pass from Meghan Pennock, and made it 1-0 in favor CA. The lead would be short lived as Rochester would tie the game with just over 13 minutes remaining in the 1st half. The teams would enter the half with the scored tied 1-1.
CRAFTSBURY– The Craftsbury Academy Charger Boys kicked off their season Saturday, against the Rockets of Rochester. It wasn’t the season opener they had hoped for as they lost a tight contest to the Rockets 1-0.
