ORLEANS - With one score and a pair of assists, Lake Region senior Shaquille Urie lifted the Rangers to a 3-0 victory over visiting Miller River in opening round play of the Division II boys soccer tournament Tuesday.
Alex Beauregard pocked the No. 3 seeded Rangers’ (13-2) first goal of the afternoon by converting a well-placed Urie corner kick, followed by a Josh Thibault tally late in the first half and Urie’s goal early in the second half.

NEWPORT–The sight after the game of an exhausted Paul Samaan laying on the ground, inhaler in hand, summed up the effort that the UCA boys gave in their tough-luck 1-0 loss to West Rutland Tuesday afternoon in the opening round of the Division IV soccer play-offs.
"The boys gave everything they had today, but you still hate to lose a game like this 1-0," said coach Alyssa DeLaBruere.
UCA matched their opponents step for step, chance for chance, but in the end a squibbler that got past Chris DeLaBruere decided the contest.
