SOUTH BURLINGTON–The North Country girls basketball team's season came to a close on Wednesday night when they fell to the Rice Green Knights 70-34 in the opening round of the Division One play-offs.
"We fought until the end, and it was very emotional," said coach Christiane Brown.
The Falcons played a strong first quarter, keeping the Rice scorers at bay, and after one it was 12-8 Knights.
Said Brown, "It was a great first quarter. We did not let their top guard Hailee Baron to get the ball, as Anna held her to just one point in the entire game."
