NEWPORT–Taylor Blake pitched a two hitter in her first varsity start as the Falcon bats erupted, driving in seventeen runs to fuel North Country’s 17-2 win over Rice.
"She did a great job out there," said coach Leslie Dunn of Blake. "I think she was a little nervous, but as the game went on her location improved."

April 25, 2012

NEWPORT–Wyatt Prue pitched 5 2/3 impressive innings in his first varsity start, but North Country had a hard time getting runs in behind him and the Falcons fell late to the Green Knights of Rice 8-1.
"He had appeared three times in relief, so we decided to give him a start," said Brian Bonvechio of Prue. "I thought he was very strong out there."
Prue also had a productive day at the plate with two doubles and the lone Falcon RBI of the game.
In the first, with the wind blowing out to right, Jon Boyer walked, followed by a double by Nate Stewart to put runners on 2nd and 3rd.

April 25, 2012

Morristown)- Trailing 10-4 entering the final inning the Lake Region Lady Rangers epitomized the ole’ saying “never say die,” plating 5 runs to make the score 10-9, and had the tying run on second base before finally succumbing to defending state champion Peoples Academy on Tuesday.
“I don’t know that I’ve ever been quite so happy after a loss,” quipped Ranger coach Matt Tinker. “These girls just wouldn’t give up, and I couldn’t be prouder of the effort they gave.”

Lake Region Defeated by Peoples’ Power Bats

April 25, 2012

MORRISVILLE–Kyle Perry gave up six runs in the first, and the Peoples Academy Wolves never looked back, as fifteen runners crossed home plate in Lake Region's 15-0 loss on Tuesday.
Despite a rough first inning, coach Eric Degree was impressed with Perry's ability to regroup and focus.
"Kyle's mental toughness was outstanding. They (PA) have a good hitting team, and they earned their runs in the first, but he was able to bounce back and throw some good innings for us."
