NEWPORT–After getting up 2-0 on goals by Betsy Dooley, the Harwood Highlanders were able to hold of a late surge by the Falcons to secure the 2-1 win in girl's soccer play on Wednesday.
"We were playing a division champ who can possess the ball better than we can, and I told the girls that you can get behind two to nothing and hope to comeback, as it was (we) came pretty close, but you can't give away forty minutes of a lot of 'kick-ball,' not against a possession team like them," said coach Peter Alexander.

ORLEANS-After falling to the Lake Region Ranger girls in Bradford a week ago, Oxbow made the adjustments they needed as they recorded a 2-0 win at Ranger Field. The Olympians connected on a goal in each half and made it stand up with mid-field dominance and a physical attitude. They pinned down high scoring Tyrah Urie holding the lineman to three shots on goal. Coach Brad Urie stated, “We learned a valuble lesson today. I think we may have taken them a little bit for granted and we’re not good enough to just not play our hardest each time out. We will learn from this and be better for it.”
