NEWPORT–After dropping their season opener to Rice by the score of 4-0, the North Country field hockey team had a much better showing against Montpelier, even though they were bested by the Solons 1-0.
"I think they improved on everything," said coach Chantelle Bouchard. "Their spacing was good, their talking was good, and Danielle played a great game."
After the Falcons controlled the ball in the early minutes, the Solons started to find their groove.
Montpelier won the race to the scoreboard when they were able to make the best of a scoring opportunity off of a corner.
