THETFORD–Going into the Vermont State Cross Country Championships, the Falcons, much like every other school in attendance, were looking to have a good a showing.
Knowing that they had the potential to do some really good things, a confident North Country squad took to the trail and came away with some fantastic results.
For the Falcon boys, Sam Brunnette stayed true to form, finishing 6th in the state (4th in Division I) with a time of 17:09.4.
NEWPORT–What has been a trying and difficult football season for the North Country Falcons came to a close on Friday night as the team fell 26-8 to the Spaulding Crimson Tide.
"This was one of those games that no matter how much preparation we did we just couldn't pull it off," said NCU coach Tim Simoneau. "We worked hard, but things didn't go our way."
Before the game got underway, the team honored their six outgoing seniors; Anthony Eldridge, Tyler Jenne, Wyatt Prue, Tyler Sanville, Troy Dane and Jason Gonyaw.
ORLEANS-In a very evenly played match, the Rivendell Raptors had a little more at the end than the home standing Lake Region Rangers as they held on for a 2-1 victory. The Raptors erased a 1-0 LRU lead by scoring twice in the last 13 minutes of regulation to snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
With a large, several-hundred strong boisterous crowd on hand to witness the quarter-final between the number 4 seed, Lake Region and the number five seed Raptors it was obvious on this chilly 42 degree day that it would be tight one.
