ESSEX-In the final big meet of the year before States, both Lake Region and North Country had a chance to showcase some of the talent they will be taking to the post-season.
For the Falcons, Cassidy Webster was second in the shot, and Jenna Moss was second in the discus.
Lake Region had several top 6 finishes at the meet, which bodes well for the team.
For the girls, Tyrah Urie tied for 3rd in the 200, Emily Close was 2nd in the 300m hurdles and Kayla Margola was 6th in the shot put.
On Wednesday, North Country Girls Golf participated in an 18 hole tournament at Lang Farm of Essex, with ten schools represented. Essex took first place in the event. The Falcons placed seventh, with scores of 111 from Tanika Demers and 99 from Paige Gagnon. Lang Farm has twelve par three holes, and as golfers know, par threes are the least forgiving. Paige parred three of them. The last tournament before next week’s States is this Friday at Jay Peak.
