CRAFTSBURY-Where the Craftsbury girls look to form their team around a new group of talent, the Charger boys enter this season bringing back the majority of their core from last season, entering the year with seven seniors rostered.
Last year the Chargers finished the season regular season 14-6, picking up one win in the playoffs before falling in the quarterfinals to Chelsea in the final seconds by one possession.
Despite the disappointing end to a strong campaign last season, Craftsbury will bring back nearly it’s entire squad for another go around this year.

Speed, Athleticism and Quickness the Key For LR Girls

December 4, 2014

ORLEANS–Out of all of the varsity basketball teams in the area, the Lake Region girls team lost the least amount of players to graduation last season, as just one senior departed from the team.
"The eight returning girls is a big asset for us," said LR coach Joe Houston. "I think it is a much different situation than last year when we had unproven or un-tested varsity girls. They figured a lot of things out over the season and hit their stride at the end, so having that to build from is a nice thing starting the year."

Rangers Will Field a Young Team for 2014-15 Season

December 4, 2014

ORLEANS–The 2014-2015 Lake Region boys basketball team will have a much different look than it did just a year ago.
Five seniors, at which any time there could be four of them in the starting five, have departed the team due to graduation.
"We are going to be inexperienced to start out with, but I think we are going to do big things," said head coach James Ingalls. "We have a rough patch to start out with, but I think that will make us stronger and by the end of the year we will be a pretty good team."

Strong Mix of Veterans and Youngsters for Falcon Boys

December 2, 2014

NEWPORT–If there is one thing that you can say about the 2014-2015 North Country boy's basketball team is that they are definitely a tall group of players.
They are also a healthy blend of upper and lower classmen, and judging from what I saw at the end of practice on Tuesday, they are a hard working group that is willing to help out a teammate when learning something new or trying to work out some kinks in the offensive scheme.
