Our area high school sports teams will be on hiatus until Friday night due to mid-term exams. Action will resume this weekend, starting on Friday.
The North Country vs Rice basketball games slated for 1-12-15 have been moved to 1-13-15. Game times are still 5:00 and 6:30.
Despite a stellar effort from goaltender Dylan Simoneau, North Country would find themselves on the wrong side of a 1-0 score, as they fell to Rutland to move to 2-7 on the year.

ORLEANSâ€“The Lake Region Lady Rangers put their league-best 6-2 record on the line Friday night when they faced the Winooski Spartans at the Don Harter Memorial Gymnasium and came away with a 58-48 win.

JAYâ€“Despite temperatures that hovered anywhere from -25 to -40 degrees Fahrenheit outside at Jay Peak, plenty of fans braved the elements to come and watch the North Country boys hockey team square off against the Rice Green Knights. North Country would score first, but the Knights were able to rally back and earn the 2-1 victory.
