The Enosburg Yellow Jackets pocketed a 5-4 victory over Lake Region in girls high school softball Monday evening, in a game far different than either had played yet this season.
Enosburg moves to 2-1, while LR drops to 1-1 and travels to Danville Thursday.

ORLEANSâ€“Lake Region's baseball club had a rough go of it on Monday afternoon, as they fell 13-4 to Enosburg in a make-up game from Saturday's rain out.
Alex Beauregard got the start for the Rangers, his first at the varsity level after a brief hiatus from the game.
Beauregard took the loss, going 3 1/3, with 5 K's and 6 walks.
Now 1-1, Lake Region will travel to Danville for their first road game of the year on Thursday.

LOWELL â€“ The Richardson family of Lowell is lucky to be alive. Angel and Brian Richardson were traveling in separate vehicles on the Mines Road in Lowell just before 3 a.m. Saturday when they and their cars suddenly ended up in a large hole. After they had climbed out, water and rocks showered down on their stranded vehicles and the hole got a lot deeper.
Angel didn't see the washout due to the rain and darkness and drove into the hole. The car stopped in an uncontrolled position at the bottom. Alex Richardson, 16, was riding with Angel.
MORGAN â€“ In 1991, the directors of Vermont Fish and Wildlife Conservation Group successfully negotiated with the Vermont Fish and Wildlife Department to rebuild the Morgan Fish Hatchery, which had been abandoned. After volunteers rebuilt the hatchery, the first brook trout fingerlings were transported to beaver ponds through local Boy and Girl Scout troops in April 1993.
Over the past 20 years, an average of 120,000 fingerlings have been distributed to waters in the Northeast Kingdom with the help of dozens of volunteers.
NEWPORT â€“ From cell phones to searches, the North Country Supervisory Union makes the rules that affect our children.
Reviewing school policies may sound like tedious work, but the North Country Supervisory Union's policy committee is mandated by the state to review policies annually. â€śWe've tried to narrow the number of policies to thirteen,â€ť said superintendent Dr. Robert Kern. â€śThey will appear in the student handbook so parents will know what the policies are.â€ť
