Dog/Owner Get Reprieve Off To College

DERBY- The Derby select board held a special meeting on Thursday evening to discuss the antics of “Tusker” a three year old dog.  The Patrick Lawrence family lives on Herrick Road and following several complaints over the past year and a half, the select board decided to take action.

A Dream Fulfilled: Queenin Finally Makes Trip To WWII Memorial

DERBY LINE — Joe Queenin of Derby Line, a World War II veteran, recently realized a longtime dream of visiting the WWII War Memorial and Okinawa Monument in Washington D.C. Thanks to the efforts by Scott Wheeler and Bill Aldrich, 20 veterans made the journey south a few weeks ago.

Esses Superior Court: Sex Offender To Spend 10 Years In Prison

GUILDHALL — A 52-year-old Canaan, man recently pled guilty to having committed lewd and lascivious acts with a child under the age of 16, and has struck a plea agreement with Essex County Prosecutor Vincent Illuzzi. If an Essex County judge accepts the deal as written, Eugene A. Coderre will spend at least ten years in state prison, with 15-25 years suspended...

Orleans Superior Court: Judge Rejects Plea Deal In Fatal Crash Case

NEWPORT CITY – Judge Howard VanBenthuysen rejected a plea deal in Orleans County Superior Court Criminal Division Wednesday from a man who wanted change his plea to no contest to a misdemeanor charge of careless or negligent operation of a motor vehicle.
