LYNDON-After three innings of Tuesdayâ€™s Lyndon-Lake Region high school softball game, it looked like the Vikings would easily cruise to their 12th victory of the season.
By the 7th inning, that outcome wasnâ€™t quite so obvious.
After falling behind 6-0 after the first three innings, a scrappy Lake Region club scratched and clawed their way back to within a 9-5 deficit, and had loaded the bases with the tying run at the plate in the 7th, before finally succumbing to their powerful D2 foes in Lyndon.

NEWPORTâ€“The North Country Falcons were in action on Monday afternoon, hosting the Spaulding Crimson Tide in a match that had play-off implications.
Knowing that if they could pull out a win they would greatly increase their chances of securing a spot in the post-season, North Country went out, and on the strength of their singles play, won the match 4-3.North Country, originally slated to play on Tuesday at Harwood, will now play Wednesday, wrapping up their regular season.
