Davis' wife kept an eye on the creature as Davis went for a gun, but before Davis could shoot the animal, the raccoon bit Davis in the leg. Davis then chased the coon and eventually killed it.
NEWPORT–It was senior day at Prouty Beach for the North Country girls tennis team. Members of the class of 2012, Kelsey O'Donnell, Carlie Diette and Rhiannon Rosamillia were honored by their coach before the game with framed pictures of themselves as a memento for their four years with the team.

NEWPORT–Things were looking promising for the North Country softball team on Tuesday afternoon.
After paying tribute to their departing seniors, junior Anna Bingham staked her team to a 1-0 lead in the first, going yard off of MMU's pitcher Colleen Davis.

North Country continued the fight in the bottom of the frame with Mariah Roberts singling, scoring and knotting the contest at two.
MMU took back the lead in the third on Autumn Hallock's double that scored Sydney LeBourveau.
The Lake Region Rangers softball team was clearly in the giving mood Tuesday, as ten errors in the field combined with a handful of mental mistakes led to a 10-9 extra-inning loss to Enosburg.
While the defense did everything they could to give the contest away, the offense kept coming back, tying or taking the lead on three different occasions after falling behind.
Ranger starter Michelle Thibeault also did her part, striking out a career high 7 batters, but in the end could not overcome a porous Ranger defense that made a least one error in every inning of play.
