Falcons Win D III Field Hockey Championship!

BURLINGTON-The North Country field hockey team was crowned the Division III State Champions after their 1-0 win on Saturday afternoon.
Brittany Fortier's second half goal was the difference in the contest.

Super Teachers With Super Idea

NEWPORT CITY – Elementary school students here learned an opposite lesson in trick or treat Thursday.
Teachers and administrators had the opportunity to dress as super heroes in exchange for donating food or five dollars to the Northeast Kingdom Community Action Food Shelf.

Lady Rangers Win Multiple Mountain League Awards

The Mountain League Champion Lake Region Lady Rangers were the recipients of seven league awards this season.
Tyrah Urie was named player of the year and selected to the first team.
Haley Kennedy and Jordyn Cowles were also first team selections.
Katie Menard, Megan Menard and Karamae Hayman-Jones were all selected to the second team.
Brad Urie was chosen as the top coach in the league for the second time.
Lake Region was the top ranked team in Division II this year and their season ended when they were upset in the quarterfinals by the Milton Yellowjackets last Saturday in Orleans.

Arlington Eliminates Lady Chargers In Semifinals

ARLINGTON-The Craftsbury Lady Chargers took their turn in a semi-final match on Wednesday afternoon, as they were hosted by the top seeded Arlington Eagles.
The long bus ride looked as if it took a toll on the team, as the Lady Chargers came out very flat in the first half, falling behind early to the Eagles, who would eventually fight their way to to five goals in the 5-0 victory that would send them to the Championship game.

Brownington Taxpayers Discuss Bonding For Truck, Garage

Historical Society, Brownington Residents Consider How To Save Grange Building

BROWNINGTON — A recent decision to lower the insurance coverage on the Grange building for the lack of bathrooms, running water, and some structural issues has drawn the attention of local residents. Old Stone House Museum Director Peggy Day Gibson held a meeting at the Grange on Tuesday evening to discuss the future of the historic building.

Derby Recycling Center To Take Clothing
