Lady Rangers Smoke Indians

DANVILLE-The Lady Rangers put up four first inning runs followed by three in the third and three in the fifth to knock out Danville 13-1. Lake Region scored in every inning but the second in the contest.
The Rangers played errorless softball behind the two hit pitching of Danika Gallup.

Dunlavey Students Advance

Dunlavey's Black Belt Academy is very pleased to announce the promotion of several students. The students train with Master Dunlavey at the North Country Hospital Wellness Center on Wednesday and Friday evenings. The Dragon program is for younger students who are just beginning their Tae Kwon Do training.

Falcon Girls Place Third in Barre

Bailey Walker and Eilish Muir competed for North Country in the first golf tournament the season this past Monday in Barre.
Walker shot a team high 50 and Muir followed her in with a score of 67.
The combined 117 was good enough for a third place overall finish for the team.

Middlebury Shuts Down Falcons

May 4, 2011

The Middlebury Tigers traveled to Newport on Monday and cruised past the Falcons for their fifth victory.
No Member of the Falcons was able to even win a set as the visitors from down south were too much to handle.
The Falcons will be back in action on Thursday against St. Johnsbury.

Falcons Find Spark in Loss

Despite losing 18-3 to Essex, North Country found a spark in the play of sophomore Anna Bingham.
The short stop had all three NCU hits, and was a single away from hitting for the cycle as she belted out a triple, a double, and a sixth inning homer to give her team an emotional lift at the end of the game.
The Falcons will take that positive and try to get back on the right track against MMU on Thursday.

Essex Handles Falcons, Wins 19-0

The Essex Hornets took advantage of some sloppy play by the North Country Falcons on Monday.
A first inning grandslam got the Hornets on the fast track as they cruised past the Falcons.
North Country will try and rebound from the loss on Thursday at home against MMU.

Falcons Fall to Eagles, 3-2

BRISTOL– The North Country girls played a close game on Saturday against Mount Abraham, but came up a little short, falling 3-2 to the Eagles.
Even worse for the Falcons, they lost Danielle Gabucci for the season when she broke her Tibia in two places while sliding into third base during the second inning.
Defensively North Country once again limited their errors to just one, and pitcher Kayla Desheneau stranded nine Eagle runners on base.

Lady Rangers Sweep Staurday's Doubleheader

ORLEANS-Manager Matt Tinker has played his first three games without three starters and, with all three making contributions and his veterans continuing to swing heavy metal, the Lake Region girls romped to a 24-6 win, stopped early by the fifteen run rule, over Hazen’s Wildcats.
Karen Potter, returning to the lineup, scored five times and was backed by an offensive onslaught including a long three run homer by Ranger second baseman Paige Wells. LRU blew the game open early as they put up eight first inning runs and notched another six in the second for a impressive early margin.

Rangers Split Against Hazen and Danville

ORLEANS-Senior Trevor Royer blasted two homeruns including a grand slam as the Rangers cut down the Wildcats 9-3 on Saturday. Royer’s sixth inning longball finished Hazen’s chances as he collected his third hit of the day. Royer had gone yard an inning earlier. Tyler Jacobs added a pair of hits and two RBI as the Rangers put up another high scoring total. Thru four games the Rangers have scored 46 runs while amassing a 3-1 record.
The Rangers spread the pitching among four players starting with Evan Royer who did a good job.

Lake Region Tennis Goes 1-1 in Weekend Action

DERBY–After a tough 7-0 loss to Stowe on Friday afternoon, the Lake Region girls tennis team was at it again Saturday morning as they shook off the previous days matches and defeated U-32 by the score of 6-1.
Lake Region has received very strong play in the early going from Desirae Colorado and Kelly Leblanc. Leblanc returns to the number one slot this year while Colorado has been competing in the number two position for the Lady Rangers, an upgrade from number three a year ago.
