"There is no doubt I will miss it, but it just feels like it's time to move on."

Lake Region Shows Fight in Loss to BFA Fairfax

May 18, 2014

FAIRFAX- If there was such a thing as a “Vegas line” on Thursday’s Lake Region vs. Fairfax high school softball game, it probably wouldn’t have been pretty.
On one side, you had Fairfax: Defending state champions, undefeated on the season at 10-0, winners of 30 of their last 31 games. And to top it off, they boast one of the best pitchers in the entire state in Kayla Mathieu, a hurler who started the season giving up just 2 hits in her first 20 innings of work, and has struck out 27 batters in her previous two games.

The team was represented by freshman Katie Goulet (52), junior Tanika Demers (66) and Captain Paige Gagnon (64).
While everyone agreed that they could have scored better, they all enjoyed a beautiful day on the links.
Paige had, except for one hole, long straight drives and reinforces Tanika’s quote of “this is a game of positivity, otherwise you will do worse.”
